Santorini

De Grieken zelf vinden Santorini een van de mooiste Griekse eilanden. Het is één van de eilanden van de Cycladen. Santorini is het eiland zoals wij dat kennen van de foto’s met witte kerkjes, blauwe daken, ezeltjes en authentieke Griekse dorpjes. Wil je een heerlijke zon- en strandvakantie, maar dan eens in een andere sfeer, dan is Santorini de perfecte keuze. Het is anders dan anders omdat het een vulkanisch eiland is. Het strand is zwart gekleurd, door zwarte kiezels.

A boat takes you to the volcano and offers you the opportunity to swim in the natural hot springs. Santorini is a unique, fairytale island known for its beautiful sunsets, views, rich history and of course Greek cuisine and wine.

Fira is the capital of Santorini and is pleasantly busy, especially in the summer months. Here you will find numerous restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset. The smaller port, nowadays for cruise ships and large yachts, is located about 270 meters below Fira. You can go down with a staircase of almost 600 steps, but it is better to go up by cable car.

Furthermore, the various places such as Kamari and Oia are very worthwhile, as is the car-free town of Megalochori.
